Read Marine is proudly owned and operated by Latham and Nicola Wardhaugh.
Both Latham and Nicola have had a long association with the business - for Nicola it has been lifelong.
Nicola’s father, Alan Annis, was the first Manager of Read Marine which was established in 1954, under the ownership of Darcy Read of W.D Read Motors.
Jack Paterson joined the staff in 1963, and fifteen years later, Alan and Jack bought the business from Read Motors, retaining the Read Marine name.
Latham came on board in 1985 as mechanic, and when Alan retired, and later Jack, Nicola and Latham bought out their shares, eventually taking the helm as full owners of Read Marine in 2007.
Alan and Jack both still have close associations with Read Marine, where Nicola,Latham and the team are continuing the family tradition of the best brands, a huge range of products, and exceptional service for the Boaties of the lower South Island.
